BIOGRAPHY
Born in Hong Kong, violinist Choi Tsz Ching now focuses on violin performance and teaching. Miss Choi has also been enthusiastic in teaching for more than 10 years and has been appointed to be the violin tutor at the La Salle Primary School, Maestro Art School, the Boy's & Girl's Clubs Association, etc. She is now the music director of the Romantic Period.
Choi Tsz Ching has recently performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra (with full scholarship), the Gustav Mahler Orchestra, The Colloglum Musicum HK, the Baptist University Orchestra, and the Strings Amarta. She performed with some famous performers such as Joshua Bell, Rachel Cheung, Colleen Lee, etc. She also participated in the master class with some famous violinists such as Mr. Cho-Liand Lin, Johannes Hehrmann, etc. Miss Choi has extensive experience in performing, and she was invited to Pop music recording and live performances. Singers who have worked with her included Hins Cheung, Ivana Wong Joyce Cheung, Jason Chan, Ian Chan from Mirror, Serrini Leung, YoYo Sham, Agatha Kong (AGA), etc.
At the age of 10, Ching joined The Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra and attained Distinction in her grade 8 violin exam (ABRSM). She won 1st prize at The Hong Kong School Music Festival and also got the Distinction for ATCL viola exam (TRINITY LONDON).
Ching graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University- the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music. She studied violin with Mr. Leung Kin Fung – the 1st associate Concertmaster in Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Dr. Patrick T S Yim-- the Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, and Miss Amelia Chan—the Concertmaster of city chamber orchestra in Hong Kong.
Teaching experience:
Ching has rich experience in violin teaching, many of her students were awarded distinction in the ABRSM Practical and Performance exam and outstanding results in the public exam and awarded prizes in the competition. She concentrated on teaching for children and teenagers. Based on traditional and Western learning methods, she built a good system of playing with some specific technical drills and cultivated learning motivation. Tailoring instruction according to each student's abilities focuses on steadily establishing a solid foundation. Employs a gradual and systematic approach to guide students in understanding the allure of classical music and the challenges associated with mastering various techniques.
Miss Choi's students 100% passed the ABRSM Violin Grade Practical and Performance Exam, and 80% of students got Distinction results. Miss Choi's students usually attend the Grade 8 level for 3-4 years, and the Diplomas level for 5 years.
